PRACTICE:
Ben Swartzendruber focuses his real estate practice on affordable housing development and finance. He has experience representing developers and investors in affordable housing who use the syndication of low-income housing tax credits, rental subsidies and the HOPE VI mixed-finance loan and grant program to finance the rehabilitation and construction of such housing. Ben previously worked as a project manager at Banc of America Community Development Corporation, where his developments included financing by low-income housing, historic, and new markets tax credits.
At Sidley Austin Brown & Wood Ben was a member of the real estate group, where his practice included the representation of commercial lenders, purchasers, sellers and lessors of commercial real estate.
RELEVANT ACTIVITIES:
Ben is a member of the American Bar Association, including its Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development.
