Commitment to Clients and Communities

Being homeless is being without–without shelter, without resources, without support, without recognition, without power to influence society.  I joined Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen because of its socially conscious culture and commitment to be a resource for the homeless.  That commitment is demonstrated through the collective work of the firm and individual dedication to non-profit organizations.  I volunteer with Bethel New Life, Journeys and United Power for Action and Justice.  I also serve on the social ministry committee of our local church which supports 18 local agencies by providing food, education, shelter and financial gifts.

Career Overview:

Current Focus: I have experience in real estate transactions, representing investors, developers, and managers in real property sales and acquisitions, real estate development, partnership syndication, financing and the negotiation of industrial and commercial leases.

My practice is focused on affordable housing development.  I represent non-profit and for profit developers and national investors involved in the development of affordable multi-family housing projects that utilize federal and state low income housing tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, state and federal historic credits, rental subsidies, HUD-insured loans, and other governmental programs, including FHLB grants and HOME Loans.
