ADMISSION TO PRACTICE:
Paul S. Balik
Paul joined Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen in 2017 after completing a clerkship for Judge Robert Miller, Jr. at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. He came to the firm after studying both law and urban planning at NYU, with a focus on affordable housing and economic development policy. While in law school, Paul worked in these fields as an intern with BPI, and in environmental law for the City of Chicago. After law school, he facilitated securitization and renewable energy finance transactions as an associate at Mayer Brown LLP. Paul has taken on pro bono work in criminal defense and civil rights litigation while at Mayer Brown and as a PILI Fellow with the Lawndale Christian Legal Center.
Paul grew up in West Rogers Park and now lives with his wife in East Rogers Park. He often can be found taking a walk at Loyola Beach, biking around the city, hiking somewhere, drinking a cup of tea, or dozing off on the Red Line.
