PRACTICE:
Bill Skalitzky concentrates his real estate practice on affordable housing development and finance. He has represented developers and tax credit syndicators in more than fifty (50) multifamily housing development projects financed in part with federal historic and/or low-income housing tax credits throughout the United States. In addition, he has represented numerous developers of affordable housing financed through (i) various HUD programs, including more than ten (10) projects financed under the HUD Section 202 and Section 811 programs for, among others, Catholic Charities Housing Development Corporation, AidsCare, Inc., the Lester and Rosalie Anixter Center, Chicago House and Social Service Agency, Trinity Services Inc., Parkside Manor, Inc. and New Hope Center, Inc.); (ii) Illinois Housing Development Authority and City of Chicago loan programs; and (iii) the Illinois Affordable Housing Tax Credits. He has extensive experience with multi-tiered private and governmental loan and grant programs, including rental subsidies. Prior to joining Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen, Bill was a commercial litigator with an emphasis in employment litigation.
