PRACTICE:
Bill Skalitzky concentrates his real estate practice on affordable housing, development and finance. He has extensive experience with various federal, state and local loan, grant and tax credit programs used to finance multifamily housing development projects, including historic and low-income housing tax credits. In addition to representing tax credit equity investors, Bill has represented numerous developers of affordable housing financed through various HUD programs, including FHA-insured loans, HUD Section 202 and 811 capital advance and refinance programs and the HUD Section 202 mixed finance program (both 4% and 9% deals). He has also worked extensively with the Illinois Department of Revenue on property tax exemptions for affordable housing projects, including those financed with federal low income housing tax credits. Prior to joining Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen, Bill was a commercial litigator with an emphasis in employment litigation.
