Commitment to Clients and Community

I am fortunate to have built a career working with incredible clients and co-workers, and to have developed other strong industry relationships that are true partnerships collaborating toward a shared vision and goal.  I especially enjoy applying expert counsel and guidance in creating solutions for our clients that allow them to maximize the financial benefit of each project and the impacted communities they support.

Since 1998, I’ve been actively involved in various leadership and volunteer roles with Deborah’s Place, the largest provider of housing and supportive services for women in Chicago who are homeless or formerly homeless.

Career Overview

Current Focus:  To sum it up, NMTC! After more than a decade representing clients in affordable housing development and financing space, I shifted my focus to establish our firm’s New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) team. This is a stellar group of attorneys and paralegals representing a robust client base of QALICBs (borrowers), NMTC investors, and CDEs (lenders) in connection with projects and businesses financed utilizing NMTC allocation.

Highlights: I’m a founding member of Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen and currently leading the firm as its Managing Partner.
