My Background
Before joining Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen, I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Political Science and Communications. At the University, I was involved in a variety of activities that strengthened my research, writing, and public speaking skills. My senior year I worked for the Women’s Resource Center, Champaign where I focused my research on how the criminal justice system can better support survivors of sexual assault as well as the history and creation of Sexual Assault Awareness month. The WRC continued to provide support to survivors in need throughout the entirety of the pandemic; this work showed me how necessary it is for students and faculty alike to have access to quality mental health services that specialize in survivor care.
My Passion in Life
In my free time, I enjoy staying active and spending time with my family. I also love to cook and experiment with new recipes. My favorite part about working in the city is always having somewhere new to eat!
