Commitment to Clients and Communities
I receive the greatest satisfaction from the joint pursuit of my keen intellectual interests in corporate real estate and project finance and my personal passion for (re-)building communities, especially with regard to Black and veteran populations. I especially enjoy working with Section 8 voucher-holders in complex situations, and hearing from clients that the work I have done for them has been positively transformative and helped them to meet or, better yet, exceed their goals.
Career Overview
Current Focus: My practice focuses on representing investors, developers and syndicators in LIHTC and other government-subsidized housing transactions. Prior to joining A&TT, I represented clients in complex real estate debt finance, joint venture, acquisition and leasing transactions, as well as assisting in the closing of private equity transactions with substantial real estate components.
Highlights: Though I of course have helped clients achieve many worthy dollar milestones in a variety of transactions, the work that I am most proud of thus far involves my extensive pro bono involvement in the Massachusetts housing, immigration and probate and family courts, which has involved divorces, name changes and document alterations for transgender clients, asylum claims for Sudanese and Russian nationals, residual tenancy Section 8 voucher transfers and the halting of eviction proceedings through mediation and payment plan negotiations.
