Commitment to Clients and Communities

Growing up in a low-income neighborhood on the southside of Chicago provided me a firsthand understanding of the myriad of challenges that arise in communities that lack affordable homes and community resources. As an attorney, I aim to advise clients on navigating through complex transactions relating to transformative housing and community projects that can ultimately improve the living conditions of the individuals and families residing in underserved communities.

Career Overview

Current Focus:

My practice is focused on representing investors and syndicators in low-income housing tax credit transactions, which facilitate the development of affordable housing and community development projects.  Prior to joining Applegate, my practice primarily comprised of representing commercial property developers and investors in the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate, and representing commercial tenants and landlords in office, industrial and retail lease negotiations and disputes.

Highlights

  • Represented a real estate investment and operating company in connection with acquiring a research and development facility for $260 million in a sale-leaseback transaction.
  • Represented energy generation and data center companies in connection with acquiring vacant land and developing solar farms and data center campuses.
  • Represented an automotive company in connection with the acquisition of 12 trucking facilities located in 5 states and with a simultaneous asset acquisition of multiple truck dealerships.
