The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong academic credentials, at least 2 years of prior law firm experience and outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Successful candidates will be organized, detail oriented, analytical, collaborative, self-motivated and highly professional. Expertise in partnership taxation and in representing developers, syndicator and/or direct investor clients in tax credit or community development-related transactions is highly desired. LLM in tax a plus.
Successful applicants will possess strong academic credentials, 3-8 years of prior law firm experience and familiarity working on complex housing finance and community development projects. Experience involving tax credit syndication and government finance is strongly preferred. FHA lending/HUD experience is a plus, but not required.
Paralegal Clerk/Junior Paralegal
Successful applicants will be proactive, organized and self-motivated. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collating, assembling, scanning and indexing documents. Applicants must be able to manage several transactions concurrently, work independently and routinely communicate transaction status. This position is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an ambitious candidate who enjoys working in a high-functioning team. Paralegal certification is not required.
The ideal candidate will work with our attorneys assisting them in various issues involving federal and state low income housing and historic tax credits, commercial, HUD and other governmental lending, and federal taxation matters. The position requires 15-20 hours per week. Responsibilities include drafting of legal and closing documents in connection with real estate transactions under the direction of the attorney in charge, research and drafting memorandum regarding federal and state regulatory and case law matters and general administrative duties as needed, including deliveries and file maintenance. Demonstrated interest in affordable housing and community development is highly preferred.
