Commitment to Clients and Communities

I receive the greatest satisfaction at the firm in supporting mission-driven, socially impactful clients in their community development efforts. As a New Markets Tax Credit attorney, I am passionate about demystifying financing tools so our clients can effectively leverage them, while allowing them to remain focused on the vital work they do in their communities every day. As the firm’s Director of Practice Innovation, I strive to identify strategies and tools that enhance efficiency across our practice groups. This not only advances the firm’s mission of supporting and strengthening communities that need it most but also fosters an innovative environment in which colleagues can thrive.

Career Overview

Current Focus: I focus my practice as an attorney on New Markets Tax Credit financed transactions, which also typically involve an array of other funding sources. I also support the firm’s efficiency and innovation goals as the Director of Practice Innovation.

Highlights: I have represented tax credit investors, community development entities and nonprofit developers in an array of NMTC transactions, including transactions facilitating the construction and/or rehabilitation of YMCAs, boys and girls clubs, schools, community centers, food banks, homeless shelters and other similar facilities serving individuals experiencing addiction and homelessness, federally qualified health centers, and other mixed use properties.

Prior to joining the firm, I represented clients in their acquisition, disposition, financing and leasing of commercial and hospitality properties.

Prior to attending law school, I played professional soccer for Saint Louis Athletica and Chicago Red Stars.
