Job Description

Junior Tax Attorney

The attorney will join our practice in Chicago providing tax counsel on projects involving the low-income housing tax credit and/or the new markets tax credit. This position requires 0-3 years of practicing tax experience in the legal industry, and (if not already applicable) the desire to develop expertise in the low-income housing tax credit or new markets tax credit space. The candidate will possess excellent academic credentials, strong communication skills and attention to detail, and share our mission-driven purpose.

Mid-level / Senior Tax Attorney

The attorney will join our practice providing tax counsel on projects involving the low-income housing tax credit and/or the new markets tax credits. This position requires 3-8 years of practicing tax experience, ideally in a law-firm setting, and familiarity working on complex housing finance and community development projects. Specific experience with tax credit transactions and writing tax opinions is a plus.

Candidates must also:

  • Share our mission-driven purpose
  • Be members in good standing with the state bar where you reside
  • Have the ability and desire to work independently and with little oversight
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational and planning skills, with the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters under strict deadlines and pressure
