Commitment to Clients and Communities
With a background in environmental justice work, I am dedicated to empowering communities and using legal tools to assist sustainable development and affordable housing. I receive the greatest satisfaction from knowing our work enables communities to thrive.
Career Overview
Current Focus: Prior to joining Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen in 2022, I created and implemented a two-year Equal Justice Works fellowship with the Equitable Community Development and Housing team at Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights. My project expanded the team’s advocacy and policy work around environmental justice issues in Chicago, such as urban agriculture, water equity, and renewable energy. Through this work, I gained a passion for assisting organizations and communities in navigating the complexities of development. I am excited to bring my experience in non-profit community lawyering and transactional legal assistance to the firm.
Highlights: At Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, I received the Justice John Paul Stevens fellowship, awarded to students with demonstrated academic achievement and a commitment to public interest and social justice law. I also received the Arlyn Miner Book Award for my coursework in legal writing and reasoning.
