My Role

I joined Applegate in May 2023 as a Project Assistant.

My Background

Prior to joining Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen, P.C., I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Global Studies with a concentration in Governance, Conflict and Resolution. I also double-minored in Spanish and Latino/a Studies. During my time in undergrad, I was exposed to various legal internships that helped shape my understanding of the legal world and motivated me to apply to law school in the future. During the summer of my freshman year into my sophomore year, I interned for the immigration department at The Shiller Preyar Law Offices. This experience gave me an understanding of what working in a law office is like and it only motivated me to continue exploring the legal world. The following year, I founded a chapter of Ignite National on campus. This organization aims to empower womxn to be involved in politics and run for office. We also focused on teaching professional development skills, such as resume building and networking. During the summer of my sophomore year into my junior year, I interned as a paralegal at Nun ̃ez Legal Group where I was introduced to criminal law and developed legal writing skills. During the summer of my junior year into my senior year, I interned for Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García’s Illinois 4th Congressional District office in Chicago. I focused on community outreach, constituent services, and conducted research on critical issues.

My Passion in Life

I love spending my free time with family and friends. I also enjoy traveling, reading, journaling, and learning new skills. I’m currently learning how to play the electric guitar!
