Commitment to Clients and Communities
I receive the greatest satisfaction at the firm from working through challenging legal questions, knowing that our diligence and care will help our clients serve their communities in powerful ways. I enjoy the substance of affordable housing and community development law with the nuances of real estate, finance, tax and regulatory law that it entails. I became an attorney to bridge the gap between people and organizations with “real-world” missions and the complex legal environments that affect them. The opportunity to use my skills for these people and organizations—understanding risk, building trust and unlocking opportunities to create real-world good—is what motivates me.
Career Overview
Current Focus: My practice is focused on assisting clients seeking to finance affordable housing and community development projects using tax credits and bonds.
Prior to joining the firm, I represented clients in a variety of complex commercial transactions, including acquisition and working capital related financings. Before law school, I worked in state government with a focus on criminal justice and corrections reform issues and I also spent several years working with small, community-engaged farms.
