My Role
I joined Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen in 2015 as a paralegal in the equity group working with national syndicators on closing affordable housing transactions. Since joining the firm I have assisted on projects involving Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Work-Force Credits, Historic Tax Credits, as well as lending a hand on a few New Markets Tax Credit deals. As part of the closing process, I maintain due diligence checklists, review due diligence documentation, surveys, title and encumbrance documents, form new business entities, and prepare the initial draft of equity and ancillary documents.
My Background
My LIHTC experience started back in 1991 working for a tax credit syndicator. I then moved on to a national lender working in their community development lending division. From there I made a foray into the “Commercial Real Estate World” working for a global capital company and managed a portfolio of construction loans. I’m glad to be back in the “LIHTC World”.
My Passion in Life
When not at the office, I hope to have passport in hand on my way to some exciting new location.
