I enjoy working through the nuanced issues that arise at the intersection of affordable housing, community development, real estate, finance, tax, and regulatory law. As an attorney, I help clients understand and manage risk, build trust and align interests among stakeholders, and move transactions forward to create lasting, tangible benefits for individuals and communities.

Career Overview

Current Focus: In my current practice, I focus on representing syndicators and investors in structuring and closing new construction and rehabilitation transactions involving state and federal low-income housing tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, energy tax credits and multiple layers of financing, including federal, state, and local loan and grant programs.

Prior to joining Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen, I have represented parties on all sides of affordable housing transactions, including institutional investors, for-profit and non-profit developers, lenders, and housing authorities. This experience has given me a well-rounded perspective on the priorities and challenges facing each stakeholder and enables me to anticipate issues, facilitate collaboration, and help clients navigate complex transactions.
