This Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) 201 session presented by a team of Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen attorneys will focus on some of the most common, but more challenging, issues confronting developers and investors in the LIHTC industry. Topics will include: (i) valuation and ownership structuring for related party acquisition/rehab developments; (ii) using Illinois Affordable Housing Tax Credits for land and “bargain sale” donations; (iii) structuring considerations for joint ventures between nonprofit and for-profit developers; and (iv) structuring for the use of a variety of different local, state, and federal soft funding and rental subsidy sources. Engage in a discussion with LIHTC counsel who have extensive experience working with both developers and investors to serve the full spectrum of affordable housing needs, from supportive housing and public housing RAD or mixed-finance deals to housing for seniors and working families. A networking session will follow.
