The Story Behind This Project
Cinnaire provided a $7 million investment in the Hoen Lithograph building to transform the vacant 85,000 sq. ft. historic structure into a vibrant mixed-use development that provides nonprofit office spaces, education and job training programs, as well as many other community-oriented amenities. This unique development houses the Center for Neighborhood Innovation (CNI), a shared hub occupied by an interdisciplinary group of social entrepreneurs, nonprofits, service providers, educational institutions, researchers, and community members committed to solving the persistent issues that exist in under-resourced neighborhoods. Morgan State University (MSU) is a key partner and tenant in this project, which now houses MSU’s School of Architecture and Planning, the Center for Urban Health Disparities Research and Innovation and the Morgan CARES Community Center. The collective work of the organizations located within CNI helps students and community residents move step-by-step along a continuum from schooling, to job training, to career building.
